Falling Awake
The wind blew in one morning-
It happened without warning.
We woke to huddled roses,
To chilly toes and noses.
The branches overhead,
Shook o’er the garden bed.
As occupants prepare,
Farewell songs fill the air.
And just as sweet and swift,
When nature starts to drift,
There wakes a rapped glee-
The breath of life in me.
